For over 30 years, Samaritan House has been bringing people together to share and reflect the true spirit of our motto, “neighbor helping neighbor”

Through the Family and Senior Sharing Program, individuals, families, businesses and groups can help local, low-income families or seniors by providing personalized food and gifts for the holidays.  In this program, you select the size of the family or senior household you wish to donate to, find out what their holiday wishlist is, then shop for and deliver the gifts and food to their home. You are welcome to share with more than one family or senior household.

If you participated in Family and Senior Sharing in 2014, 2015 or 2016 you do not need to fill out an application again – just confirm your preferences with the RETURNING DONOR FORM

If you are interested in particpating in Family and Senior Sharing and have not been involved in the last three years, please complete a New Family and Senior Sharing Donor Application.

As a Family Sponsor, we match you with a family or families and provide them with food or grocery store gift cards and gifts for children in the family who are 17 or younger and deliver them to the home. You contact the family to find out specific needs and/or gift wishes and to arrange a delivery time.

As a Senior Sponsor, we match you with a senior or senior couple to provide food or grocery store gift cards, and a gift. Once you have contacted the senior/s to learn their needs, you deliver the items you have purchased directly to the senior(s) who may want to spend some time with you, sharing the spirit of the holidays.

We begin matching sponsors with families and seniors in November so we recommend signing up as soon as possible to ensure we can match you with a family or senior household. Please keep the following dates in mind:

Friday, Dec. 1 — the last day to sign up to participate in the Program

Thursday, Dec. 7 — the last day to contact your family or senior

Monday, Dec. 18 — the last day to deliver to your family or senior
