Samaritan House strives to involve schools and students in learning about poverty and homelessness through empathy-building by doing community service. We have no regular opportunities on site for groups of students but welcome support with Drives for essential items that we can give to our clients in need. Often this support can include a tour of our facilities to provide context for the drive.

Opportunities for Student Community Service

If you are over 12, you can volunteer with us if you are accompanied by a parent in some of our programs. If you are 16 or 17, you can volunteer by yourself in some of our programs, if you provide us a parent signed Minor Waiver Consent Form.

Please remember that almost all of our volunteering happens Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm, so may not be a good fit for your school schedule.

If you think that you are able to commit to the minimum time frame needed of 20 hours, contact Rosie Coleridge to learn more.
